DDT tries to help people with a compulsive tabs opening habit by preventing duplicated tabs. It wont cure you, but hopefully youll suffer less.

The Context

I tend to open  reopen the very same tabs again  again, just to refresh their content. Ive usually got lots (150+ on several browser windows) of open tabs,  even with the use of some Chrome extensions it takes too much time to find the one I want to refresh. So, since my Bookmarks Bar is full,  I reopen the website I want to read once again. And again. And again.


The Need

I dont want to care anyme about duplicated tabs. Please remove them f me, oh mighty browser, whenever I open another tab with a link already present somewhere else.


The Result

Whenever the user opens a new tab, either via CTRL/CMD+click on a link  Right click > Open in new tab, the extension looks f any other open tabs with the very same url  close them if found.

You can enable/disable the extension by clicking on the extension action icon.


Is it safe?

DDT requires two kind of permissions from Chrome:

tabs: to access the tabs list with their urls
stage: to save the enabled/disabled state

It does not:

access the netwk (in any way, not even f checking f updates)
read the contents of the opened pages
It could:

close some tabs you dont want to close: this extension is in Beta stage. Ive never lost anything I did not expect to lose in all the testing I did, but please dont hold me responsible if anything bad happens
Known limitations

It activates only when the user requests a new tab, not when you are clicking on a link that opens a new tab
If you really want a duplicate tab, you can open a blank tab (only one a time ;) )  then paste the link
If a link/bookmark does a redirect in me than 250ms, thus changing the tab url  scheme (i.e. http page redirecting to the same page served in https) later, it wont be matched
                                

DDT - Don't Dupe Tabs插件离线安装方法

1.首先用户点击谷歌浏览器右上角的自定义及控制按钮，在下拉框中选择设置。

2.在打开的谷歌浏览器的扩展管理器最左侧选择扩展程序或直接输入：chrome://extensions/

3.找到自己已经下载好的Chrome离线安装文件xxx.crx，然后将其从资源管理器中拖动到Chrome的扩展管理界面中，这时候用户会发现在扩展管理器的中央部分中会多出一个”拖动以安装“的插件按钮。

4.下载 DDT - Don't Dupe TabsChrome插件v0.2版本到本地。

5.勾选开发者模式，点击加载已解压的扩展程序，将文件夹选择即可安装插件。

注意：最新版本的chrome浏览器直接拖放安装时会出现“程序包无效CRX-HEADER-INVALID”的报错信息，参照这篇文章即可解决
