Detailed description

Lenstag Rescue checks images on the web f camera serial numbers.  If it finds a serial number  similar infmation in an image, infmation about the image is sent over an encrypted connection to Lenstag Rescue where it will be used to help recover cameras flagged as stolen on Lenstag (f free!).

What is Lenstag?

Lenstag is a free photographic equipment registry that creates a public web page if a registered item gets stolen.  Its best if you add your gear befe it gets stolen so you can flag it as stolen as soon as it disappears, but if your items are already missing, you can add them, too.  Lenstag is available f Android (lens.tg/roid), iOS (lens.tg/ios)  on the web at Lenstag.com.

Whats the catch?

Theres no catch. Lenstag only requires an email address  a passwd to get going.  If youve already registered your gear on Lenstag  have flagged a camera as stolen, then Lenstag Rescue is already wking f you.

Is Lenstag Rescue like StolenCameraFinder?

The Lenstag Rescue Chrome extension is a fk of the open source StolenCameraFinder project Chrome extension on Google Code: https://code.google.com/p/stolencamerafinder/

The extension was changed to send data over an encrypted connection  is used by a service, Lenstag, thats totally free.

How does it wk?

Lenstag will occasionally ask Lenstag Rescue if it has seen any stolen camera serial numbers  if it has, Lenstag Rescue will give Lenstag infmation about the images to be use in a rept given to the photographer with the stolen camera to aid in its recovery.

How anonymous is it?

The Chrome extension only sends data when it finds an image with serial numbers  other data in an image that can aid in a cameras recovery.  The data is about the found image  does not contain any text data from the web page itself.

Lenstag Rescue插件离线安装方法

1.首先用户点击谷歌浏览器右上角的自定义及控制按钮，在下拉框中选择设置。

2.在打开的谷歌浏览器的扩展管理器最左侧选择扩展程序或直接输入：chrome://extensions/

3.找到自己已经下载好的Chrome离线安装文件xxx.crx，然后将其从资源管理器中拖动到Chrome的扩展管理界面中，这时候用户会发现在扩展管理器的中央部分中会多出一个”拖动以安装“的插件按钮。

4.下载 Lenstag RescueChrome插件v1.4版本到本地。

5.勾选开发者模式，点击加载已解压的扩展程序，将文件夹选择即可安装插件。

注意：最新版本的chrome浏览器直接拖放安装时会出现“程序包无效CRX-HEADER-INVALID”的报错信息，参照这篇文章即可解决
