What are Solid PODs?
Solid was created by the invent of the Wld Wide Web, Sir Tim BernersLee. Its mission is to reshape the web as we know it. Solid will foster a new breed of applications with capabilities above  beyond anything that exists today. Everyone in the Solid ecosystem can ste any piece of the data they produce wherever they want. So while my comment on your photo is sted in my pod, your photo is sted in your pod. However, this means that we need a way f connecting the data in different pods together, such that the connection  my comment  your photo can be identified.

Solid connects resources in different pods by representing all data as Linked Data. At its ce, Linked Data is really simple: every piece of data gets its own HTTP URL on the Web,  we use those URLs to refer to this data. So if your photo is identified by https://yourpod.solid/photos/beach, then my comment at https://mypod.solid/comments/36756 will link back to that URL. Solid empowers users  ganizations to separate their data from the applications that use it. It allows people to look at the same data with different apps at the same time. It opens br new avenues f creativity, problemsolving,  commerce.

In other wds your data never leaves your POD  you are theref always the sovereign of your data. 

How to start using the PODCHAT.COM messenger?

1. Open the POD Chat extension
2. Login  register your solid POD
3. Add your friends POD´s to your contacts
4. Start chatting

POD Chat Messenger插件离线安装方法

1.首先用户点击谷歌浏览器右上角的自定义及控制按钮，在下拉框中选择设置。

2.在打开的谷歌浏览器的扩展管理器最左侧选择扩展程序或直接输入：chrome://extensions/

3.找到自己已经下载好的Chrome离线安装文件xxx.crx，然后将其从资源管理器中拖动到Chrome的扩展管理界面中，这时候用户会发现在扩展管理器的中央部分中会多出一个”拖动以安装“的插件按钮。

4.下载 POD Chat MessengerChrome插件v0.3版本到本地。

5.勾选开发者模式，点击加载已解压的扩展程序，将文件夹选择即可安装插件。

注意：最新版本的chrome浏览器直接拖放安装时会出现“程序包无效CRX-HEADER-INVALID”的报错信息，参照这篇文章即可解决
