PotatoSmile wks on your Facebook Timeline, Comments & ChatBox turning the bing text codes like :) to graphical smileys like the ones you see in Yahoo! Messenger.

All you have to do is:
  Install PotatoSmile (click on Add to Chrome on top right )
  REFRESH/REOPEN your Facebook page [this is imptant f the first time after installation]
  Enjoy these jolly emoticons.
  Spread the smile, share it with your friends using the inbuilt share function in extension icon.

Q. What makes it different?? from those annoying hugeface smiley softwares you find lurking all over the web, which probably infect your PC with malware.

A. Let me break it down into parts f better explanation:
 i) PotatoSmile installs on Chrome, not your OS,  just converts certain symbols to graphical images.

 ii) It uses the same smileys you loved in Yahoo! messenger. With the evolution of web,  Google/FB domination, Yahoo! messenger got left alone in the dark,  people now prefer to use Skype/gTalk/FBChat. But still, theres one thing which keeps reminding us of the oncepopular IM client Yahoo! Messenger, oh yea! their cute smileys!. Weve all used them, we all know their sht codes,  most of us miss them too. So here it is, Yahoo! smileys now on Facebook

 iii) PotatoSmile DOES NOT believe in spamming  HATES it as much as you. We will NEVER spam your Facebook wall  add a line at the end of each comment saying "Hey! Im using this uber cool Chrome extension  you should also try this!". However, you are free ( humbly invited) to spread the wd yourself. :)

PS: The graphical emoticons can be viewed only in Chrome browsers having PotatoSmile extention. So feel free to share  spread the smile!

PotatoSmile插件离线安装方法

1.首先用户点击谷歌浏览器右上角的自定义及控制按钮，在下拉框中选择设置。

2.在打开的谷歌浏览器的扩展管理器最左侧选择扩展程序或直接输入：chrome://extensions/

3.找到自己已经下载好的Chrome离线安装文件xxx.crx，然后将其从资源管理器中拖动到Chrome的扩展管理界面中，这时候用户会发现在扩展管理器的中央部分中会多出一个”拖动以安装“的插件按钮。

4.下载 PotatoSmileChrome插件v1.1.14版本到本地。

5.勾选开发者模式，点击加载已解压的扩展程序，将文件夹选择即可安装插件。

注意：最新版本的chrome浏览器直接拖放安装时会出现“程序包无效CRX-HEADER-INVALID”的报错信息，参照这篇文章即可解决
