Also, after you install this extension you have to reload the page(s) you want to use it on  enable it by pressing the extensions button first! This is only necessary after installing the first time  if the extension has updated. **

LiuChan (liú chàng) is an extension f chrome that allows you to mouseover Chinese to instantly lookup the dictionary. 流畅 (liú chàng) sts f fluency in a language.

It started out as a pt of RikaiChan ( its Rikai derivatives)  has since grown into an extension that holds its own with new features  improved perfmance.


Current Features:
* Instantaneous translation 
Just hover/mouse over any Chinese characters  wds appear just like that!

* Synchronized settings across all your devices
LiuChan will automatically synchronize your settings f you (requires that Chrome sync is enabled)

* Text input suppt
Like to use a dictionary on text inputs? No wries, LiuChan has got you covered! As long as an input is active well disable the highlighting functionality so you dont accidentally lose focus  remove text you didnt mean to delete. Whats me, hotkeys are also automatically disabled when youre typing!

* Theme suppt
Pick from five presets: LiuChan, Pleco, Charcoal, Paper  Sepia

* Theme customization
You can alter the tone cols of any theme, to ensure you dont have to reassociate the cols youre used to! Weve made it easy; use the builtin col pickers  see the changes on the fly!

* Fuzzy search
Use chromes omnibox to search the dictionary using hanzi, pinyin  just plain english! F those times a wd is on the tip of your tongue ;)

* TextToSpeech 
Sometimes you just need to hear it. Have any wd spoken out loud in one of the three available dialects: Marin, Taiwanese  Cantonese.


Usage:
Mouse Over Dictionary  Simply enable the extension  mouse over Chinese on a page!

Fuzzy search  Type lc in the omnibox followed by whatever term you want to look f (Chinese, pinyin  English), the results will show up as suggestions.

TextToSpeech  Press T when hovering over a character to hear its pronunciation in the dialect youve chosen


Why is it called LiuChan?

流畅 (liú chàng) sts f fluency in a language. I kept Chan as an homage to its igin.

*Fixed a serious bug affecting only new users of LiuChan, where the popup would not show up unless the user changed at least one option in the options page. Didnt catch this f a long time probably, because I didnt clear my synched settings f a long time! Oops...

LiuChan Chinese Popup Dictionary插件离线安装方法

1.首先用户点击谷歌浏览器右上角的自定义及控制按钮，在下拉框中选择设置。

2.在打开的谷歌浏览器的扩展管理器最左侧选择扩展程序或直接输入：chrome://extensions/

3.找到自己已经下载好的Chrome离线安装文件xxx.crx，然后将其从资源管理器中拖动到Chrome的扩展管理界面中，这时候用户会发现在扩展管理器的中央部分中会多出一个”拖动以安装“的插件按钮。

4.下载 LiuChan Chinese Popup DictionaryChrome插件v1.1.6版本到本地。

5.勾选开发者模式，点击加载已解压的扩展程序，将文件夹选择即可安装插件。

注意：最新版本的chrome浏览器直接拖放安装时会出现“程序包无效CRX-HEADER-INVALID”的报错信息，参照这篇文章即可解决
