What is Single Pass?

Single Pass is an extension that allows you to create passwds using a single "master" passwd. You only have to remember your Single Pass passwd  Single Pass will generate unique, secure passwds f every other web site you visit. You never have to write down your passwds  risk somebody stealing your passwds with Single Pass.

How do I Use Single Pass?

First, select a complex Single Pass passwd that only you know. Dont write it down where it can be stolen. Memize it. This will be your key to everything! If somebody steals your Single Pass passwd, all of your generated passwds will be compromised!

Enter your Single Pass passwd  a Service Name. A service name might be something like "google.com". You name the services you use in whatever way you want. You can enter "google"  "google.com"  "www.google.com"  "accounts.google.com".  What is imptant is that you follow a consistent approach that you can remember  that you keep a list of service names in a separate file. Without the exact service name, Single Pass cannot generate the same "service passwd". Note that "Google"  "google" are different service names, since the software is sensitive.

Want even stronger security? Use cryptic service names f your services. F example, rather than use "google.com", use a passwd generat to create complex service names. Its OK to write down the cryptic service names in a file  put them on a sticky note, since they are useless without your Single Pass passwd you keep sted in your head. Using this approach also addresses the issue where some web sites require you to change your passwd from timetotime  require special characters  passwds of a specific .

Once you enter your Single Pass passwd  Service Name, click "Compute"  Single Pass will compute the 16character "Service Passwd" f your service.  Use the computed Service Passwd when visiting a web site.

Thats it! You are no longer fced to memizing dozens of passwds  write down hundreds of passwds. You only need to memize one!

Single Pass插件离线安装方法

1.首先用户点击谷歌浏览器右上角的自定义及控制按钮，在下拉框中选择设置。

2.在打开的谷歌浏览器的扩展管理器最左侧选择扩展程序或直接输入：chrome://extensions/

3.找到自己已经下载好的Chrome离线安装文件xxx.crx，然后将其从资源管理器中拖动到Chrome的扩展管理界面中，这时候用户会发现在扩展管理器的中央部分中会多出一个”拖动以安装“的插件按钮。

4.下载 Single PassChrome插件v1.14版本到本地。

5.勾选开发者模式，点击加载已解压的扩展程序，将文件夹选择即可安装插件。

注意：最新版本的chrome浏览器直接拖放安装时会出现“程序包无效CRX-HEADER-INVALID”的报错信息，参照这篇文章即可解决
