An extension to anonymise LinkedIn profiles searches to reduce the influence of unconscious bias on recruiters.

Unbias - LinkedIn anonymiser for recruiters插件描述

Unbias hides faces  names from profiles, searches  projects on LinkedIn Recruiter  Recruiter Lite, to reduce the effects of unconscious bias on recruiters.

Why?

Unconscious ( implicit) bias is bias we are unaware of  its outside our control, but affects our actions  decisions.

Studies show we have unconscious bias toward  against certain genders, ethnicities  visual traits. You can test your own unconscious biases with Harvards Implicit Association Test. Goldin & Rouse found blind auditions f chestras increased the likelihood that a woman is selected by 30% to 60%. Unbias applies this concept of blind auditions to applicant finding  filtering by hiding profile pictures.

In addition, studies have shown that we have biases based in names. MossRacusin et al. found, in a doubleblind study of the the same application with typically male  female names, like James  Jane, that assesss rated James as significantly me competent  hireable than the (identical) Jane. The assesss also selected a higher starting salary  offered me career menting to James. And it didnt matter whether the assess was a man  a woman  we are all affected by unconscious bias. Equally, Bertr  Mullainathan found significant discrimination against AfricanAmerican sounding names: White sounding names received 50 percent me callbacks f interviews. And this affected the benefits of a better resumé too  a higher quality resumé elicits 30 percent me callbacks f a Whitesounding name, whereas f African American sounding names, it elicits a far smaller increase.

Recruiters use LinkedIn to find, shtlist  contact cidates. As LinkedIn displays both names  profile photos, recruiters are susceptible to this bias. It may affect whether  not they choose to shtlist  contact a cidate,  their overall perception of a cidates ability, outside of the relevant facts about that cidate.

Unbias removes names  photos in both stard  recruiter account searches  profile views to help reduce the effects of unconscious bias. When you go to InMail a cidate, the name is visible within the message window.

Unbias currently only wks when using LinkedIn with LinkedIn Recruiter  Recruiter Lite. It has been updated as of 29th November 2019 to wk with the latest version of Recruiter Lite.
                                

Unbias - LinkedIn anonymiser for recruiters插件离线安装方法

1.首先用户点击谷歌浏览器右上角的自定义及控制按钮,在下拉框中选择设置。

2.在打开的谷歌浏览器的扩展管理器最左侧选择扩展程序或直接输入:chrome://extensions/

3.找到自己已经下载好的Chrome离线安装文件xxx.crx,然后将其从资源管理器中拖动到Chrome的扩展管理界面中,这时候用户会发现在扩展管理器的中央部分中会多出一个”拖动以安装“的插件按钮。

4.下载 Unbias - LinkedIn anonymiser for recruitersChrome插件v0.0.0.7版本到本地。

5.勾选开发者模式,点击加载已解压的扩展程序,将文件夹选择即可安装插件。

注意:最新版本的chrome浏览器直接拖放安装时会出现“程序包无效CRX-HEADER-INVALID”的报错信息,参照这篇文章即可解决
