Despite the convenience  the time saved by the autocomplete suggestions from your Chrome browser’s address bar, not all the website URLs popping up in the autocomplete will necessarily lead you to a safe destination with appropriate content. This is a Chrome extension that integrates WOT’s website rating system to display the SitesRank safety sces of each domain that appears in your autocomplete suggestions. Befe clicking on any domains, view the safety sces first to avoid the lowrating  suspicious sites to stay away from bad content. We also provide an alternative option f you to check URLs inside the extension’s user interface. Please enter a valid URL (example: amazon.com).

What is WOT? Web of Trust is a website reputation  review service that helps people make infmed decisions about whether to trust a website  not. In this extension, we integrate with the WOT API. We are not responsible f their rating sces  cannot guarantee that the sces are 100% accurate. 

The SitesRank Sces can be turned off at any time from the extension’s action window. Don’t fget to turn it on afterward! 

Permissions  reasons used:

1. Access to “cookies”. We require this permission to remember all the setting changes that you made to provide you the customized experience you desire.
2. Access to “contextMenus”. We require this permission to add me functional items to the dropdown menu from the action icon of this extension to provide you a me complete user experience  to enhance our service.
3. Change your default search engine. We require this permission to change your default search engine to our search domain browsesafelysearch.com, powered by Yahoo. We need to change your default search engine in der to provide the functionality of displaying SitesRank Sces from the autocomplete suggestions of your address bar. If you want to use a different option, we also suppt Bing  Google in this extension. You can make the change from inside the extension’s Settings at any time.

How to remove this extension?

Option 1: Go to “Settings” on Chrome,  find our extension in the “Extensions” tab. Click “remove”. Option 2: Rightclick on the extension’s icon on your browser  select “Remove from Chrome” from the dropdown menu.

Browse Safely插件离线安装方法

1.首先用户点击谷歌浏览器右上角的自定义及控制按钮，在下拉框中选择设置。

2.在打开的谷歌浏览器的扩展管理器最左侧选择扩展程序或直接输入：chrome://extensions/

3.找到自己已经下载好的Chrome离线安装文件xxx.crx，然后将其从资源管理器中拖动到Chrome的扩展管理界面中，这时候用户会发现在扩展管理器的中央部分中会多出一个”拖动以安装“的插件按钮。

4.下载 Browse SafelyChrome插件v3.0.0版本到本地。

5.勾选开发者模式，点击加载已解压的扩展程序，将文件夹选择即可安装插件。

注意：最新版本的chrome浏览器直接拖放安装时会出现“程序包无效CRX-HEADER-INVALID”的报错信息，参照这篇文章即可解决
