   DESCRIPTION


YouTubes parental controls are pretty much nonexistent. Restrictive mode hides some things yes but not nearly enough. Plus there are no tracking/moniting  filtering methods parents can use. On top of that the "suggested"  "trending" videos very often have content I personally wouldnt want my kids watching. 

This extension is a very simple hack to hide most elements on the YouTube site  only show the basics. These lists may change over time but f now heres what is shown/hidden:


  ITEMS SHOWN

* Search Bar
* Playlist menu/list
* Subscriptions 


   ITEMS HIDDEN 

* Suggested / Next Up videos
* Bulk of YouTube homepage contents
* The GOD AWFUL "Trending" link
* Histy link (harder f kids to clear histy)
* Video description
* Video comments
* Misc YouTube Header/Footer stuff	


   HOW TO USE 


1.) Install this extension. Enable it f "Private/Incognito" mode if necessary. 
2.) Go to YouTube
3.) Enjoy a VERY minimal/barebones YouTube user interface 
    with 85% of the crap hidden.


   DISCLAIMERS/NOTES


A) Yes this is not super secure  anyone (incl kids) 
   of a certain age/technical skill will find ways around this 
   but its better than nothing f people in my situation with 
   no other options.

B) Please note that this extension may stop wking to varying
   degrees in the future if/when YouTube changes their site. Ill 
   update/fix if possible when time permits / I ( others)
   are still using this.

C) This extension is not meant to eliminate the need f parental
   attention of what their kids are watching on YouTube  its
   just to help make parents job a little bit easier  less stressful.

D) This extensions toolbar icon is *intentionally* invisible so its not
   immediately obvious where/how to remove it. However it can be removed
   in the usual extension/setting location.

E) This extension is similar to the similarlynamed extension 
   "Safer YouTube" by another person but that one didnt go far enough 
   (f me) in what it hides/shows so thats why I made my own.

Safer YouTube UI for Kids插件离线安装方法

1.首先用户点击谷歌浏览器右上角的自定义及控制按钮，在下拉框中选择设置。

2.在打开的谷歌浏览器的扩展管理器最左侧选择扩展程序或直接输入：chrome://extensions/

3.找到自己已经下载好的Chrome离线安装文件xxx.crx，然后将其从资源管理器中拖动到Chrome的扩展管理界面中，这时候用户会发现在扩展管理器的中央部分中会多出一个”拖动以安装“的插件按钮。

4.下载 Safer YouTube UI for KidsChrome插件v20230207055522版本到本地。

5.勾选开发者模式，点击加载已解压的扩展程序，将文件夹选择即可安装插件。

注意：最新版本的chrome浏览器直接拖放安装时会出现“程序包无效CRX-HEADER-INVALID”的报错信息，参照这篇文章即可解决
